Benefits of Sylfirm
Sylfirm
Introducing Sylfirm, an invasive bipolar radiofrequency technology that was developed in Silicon Valley in the US. This device generates an electrothermal reaction in target tissues by converting electrical current into heat energy, depending on the resistance of the tissue. Since Sylfirm preferentially targets dermal vessels due to the high conductivity of the dermis (the skin below the epidermis) compared to the epidermis (outermost layer of the skin), it effectively avoids damaging overlying pigment-containing cells in the epidermis thus lessening the incidence of post-inflammatory pigmentation.
Sylfirm then targets abnormal blood vessels in the dermis which contribute to rosacea and melasma. You can imagine the technology as a magnet for abnormal blood vessels, putting all the redness and discolouration together, and then zapping it out, but leaving the normal blood vessels untouched and intact.
What is the difference between Sylfirm and laser treatments?
UIn comparison to laser toning treatment that is effective but may damage the melanosomes in the epidermis, Sylfirm treats the skin problem from its root cause without losing the integrity of the epidermis. Sylfirm safely coagulates or puts together the over proliferated blood vessels in one’s skin and targets it effectively to get rid of it.
Laser toning treatment also tends to shoot light only onto the surface of the skin without dealing with deeply rooted fundamental causes which lead to only temporary results which may even stimulate micro-vessels and worsen the problem.
On the other hand, Sylfirm selectively coagulates vessels to safely heal specific areas of one’s skin and destroys only abnormal vessels without harming the complexion. For instance, Melasma which is agreeably difficult to treat due to deep skin formation might worsen as a result of aggressive treatments. Sylfirm can stop melanin migration by strengthening the basement membrane once weakened by factors such as UV rays and ageing.
Who will benefit from Sylfirm?
Sylfirm is ideal for those who have melasma, extreme blushing, and rosacea. It also blocks melanin from moving from the epidermis to the dermis by strengthening the basement membrane (a wall between the dermis and epidermis). If the membrane is strong, it will keep what is within well protected and away from harm.
One of the advantages of Sylfirm is its ability to improve the overall appearance of one’s skin, making it the first multi-treatment that deals with all skin concerns. By solving the fundamental problems of over-proliferated vessels and minimizing recurrence, Sylfirm is result-oriented. Fine lines, dull skin, acne scars and large pores are also some of the problems Sylfirm can tackle.
Any downtime?
Our patients have claimed that the treatments do not hurt, and has no downtime. Any rare redness or obvious signs will go down within hours.
What is the recommended number of treatments for Sylfirm?
While the frequency and number of treatments will vary depending on individuals’ skin concerns, it usually takes five to ten treatments at three-week intervals. Significant results- cleaner and healthier-looking skin may be seen after two to three sessions.
The best way to control skin ageing or flushing is via maintenance.
